Registered Building Inspector (RBI) – Contractor

📍 Location: Lancashire (Hybrid – Remote with Site Visits)
💰 Pay Rate: £60–£80 per hour (Outside IR35)
🕒 Hours: 37 hours per week
⏳ Contract Length: Ongoing (initial term with likely extensions)

We are currently seeking two experienced Registered Building Inspectors (RBIs) to support a busy and forward-thinking Building Control service in Lancashire. This is an immediate contract opportunity, ideal for professionals looking for flexible working, competitive pay, and involvement in diverse, high-impact projects.

• Hybrid working: Remote-based with site visits and some office attendance
• 37 hours per week – full-time

• 🔍 Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of domestic and non-domestic Building Control applications
• Check plans and conduct site inspections to assess compliance with Building Regulations and the Building Act 1984
• Respond to reports of dangerous structures and demolitions, taking enforcement action where required
• Prepare and maintain documentation to support regulatory and legal enforcement
• Provide technical advice and work independently with minimal supervision

🎓 Requirements:

• Registered Building Inspector (RBI) – any class considered, but Class 2E or above preferred
• Full professional membership: CABE, RICS, or MCIOB
• Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction practices
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
