My client is currently seeking a Building Inspector (Warranty Surveyor) to service sites in and around the Exeter / Devon area. This is a remote role with travel to sites from home.

The organisation work on behalf of national structural warranty providers, surveying a vast array of new build developments ranging from £500k to £300m and 55-storeys in height.

The position requires a strong working knowledge of building regulations and the ability to undertake site inspections to assess both quality and the cause/effect of building defects.

Suitable applicants will ideally come from a Building Inspector / Warranty / Building Control / Building Surveying / Clerk of Works / Site Management background. The Client will consider those with transferrable site construction skills, providing you can also display a genuine eagerness to learn.

Typical Responsibilities:

· Inspecting homes being constructed, working closely with developers and builders to ensure as far as is reasonably possible works are in accordance with the Technical Manual and Building Regs.

· Recording inspection details and corresponding support documents in line with the companies SLA with its clients

· Ongoing liaison with surveyors and management on technical matters to ensure standards are being maintained and company QMS procedures adhered to.

· Assist senior management in the delivery of internal technical auditing across project risks, site surveying, plans checking and management

· Delivery of a consistent service and build effective client relationships on all schemes through the completion of surveying duties.

Person Specification:

· Part or Full member of professional organisations: RICS / CIOB / CABE / Similar

· Prior experience in a Building Inspector, Building Control or Warranty Surveying capacity is preferable but not essential

· In depth technical knowledge of Building Regs and other relevant construction standards

· Ability to undertake site inspections to assess quality & the cause/effect of building defects

· Full UK Driving Licence
