Our client, a national Approved Inspector, is newly seeking a Building Control Manager (or a Senior Building Control Surveyor looking to progress) to oversee an established and growing team of technical Surveyors within their Midlands regional team.

The Role:

This is a rare opportunity to join a ready-made and successful team, with a mix of long-servers and recent Junior additions, to take on the management of a team that suits your level of experience (new managers will start with a small team of Junior staff, experienced manager’s might take on a larger team). You will have the support of a highly approachable Regional Director and another talented Regional Manager, looking after a team of 20 total – there won’t be many better environments to develop as a manager, with a pre-established & high-quality project pipeline, allowing you to focus on effective management & development of your Building Control Team.

The role offers highly flexible and hybrid working arrangements, with 1-2 days per week expected in the West Midlands office to ensure effective support and collaboration with your team. The regional area covers the entire Midlands (& as far North as Manchester), so with travel to the office only a small portion of the week, the role can suit anyone across the Midlands and surrounding counties. Projects are a good mix of Residential and Commercial and the client will happily consider part-time hours.

Person Specification:

· Full of Associate Membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS, CABE or CIOB

· Extensive experience delivering a building control service on different types of buildings and projects through the delivery of site inspections and plan checks

· Prior management experience is preferable however experienced Building Control Surveyor’s with the enthusiasm to progress and ability to demonstrate potential to opertate in a managerial role will be equally considered

· Conversant with the interpretation of building regulations, construction processes, legislation and requirements

· An interest in training & developing technical Surveyors, offering regular and effective feedback to improve performance

· Full UK Driving Licence
